About This Blog

I began this blog in 2011 in an attempt to improve my photography and showcase all of California's 58 counties. I didn't quite make all of the 58, I missed three and I will try to rectify that in the coming year. I'm not sure how much I improved my photography because I always seemed to be in a rush.
In 2012 I plan to take more time, perhaps not post every day (this is one thing I did accomplish in 2011). I also plan to expand beyond California and include images from other parts of Western United States. I will continue to include a map showing where I was when I took the picture. I will keep commentary to a minimum, long photo essays will continue to be at Martha's Musings.

The Year in Review

Well, I did it, almost.  I managed a post a day but didn't manage to get every county in California.  I missed Fresno, Madera and Tulare. I drove through them during the year but didn't take any photographs.
Amador, Mariposa, Lake, Los Angeles, Kern, Alpine, Humbolt, Inyo
In my push to post an image every day, they were not always as good as I would have liked.
El Dorado, Monterey, Riverside, Butte, Lassen, Marin

In 2012 I am not going to try to post every day.  I will take my time and only show you the images on this blog that I am most proud of.

Lassen, Mono, San Luis Obispo, Merced, Del Norte, Modoc, Calavaras
I also plan to extend the scope of the blog to beyond California.  We travel to other parts of the west and would like to share images of some of these places as well.
Santa Barbara, San Mateo, Sonoma, Sacramento, Solano, Santa Clara, Ventura

It's a New Year and I am anxious to see what it holds.
Siskiyou, Sierra, San Francisco, San Diego, Santa Cruz, Tuolomne, Shasta

I'm am looking forward to a another year of sharing with my blogging friends, learning from one another.

Happy New Year!

Today I am linking to Mosaic Monday, hosted by Mary at the Little Red House.

How wonderful to see your year in review, Martha. How dreadful of you to miss three counties in California. LOL
I agree with Roan and Sylvia, I can't imagine you taking a bad photo. It will be interesting to see which ones you consider the best of the best, but I'm wondering if we will see any at all if you're putting such pressure on yourself.
Take good care of yourself, Martha. Lots of us love you and your fabulous photos.
