About This Blog
I began this blog in 2011 in an attempt to improve my photography and showcase all of California's 58 counties. I didn't quite make all of the 58, I missed three and I will try to rectify that in the coming year. I'm not sure how much I improved my photography because I always seemed to be in a rush.
In 2012 I plan to take more time, perhaps not post every day (this is one thing I did accomplish in 2011). I also plan to expand beyond California and include images from other parts of Western United States. I will continue to include a map showing where I was when I took the picture. I will keep commentary to a minimum, long photo essays will continue to be at Martha's Musings.

What a wonderful shot. I can hear the noise.
would love to be on the bridge. incredible shot.
I love the sound of the pounding water! Wish I could really hear it but the photo helps me imagine that I can. :)
I read your statement of intent, to show us photos from all of California - I welcome that! If I could keep the map in my head as I watched them all, it would be even better...
There's nothing more restful than the sound of rushing water.
WATER DITTY
A mist, a drop, a river, the sea—
All of this water, a gift for me!
Some snow, a berg, or maybe some ice—
Anything frozen, that would be nice!

Hope you find time to visit. Have a glorious Wednesday.
this is a loud picture!
This is one of those “perfect” shots. Where we go at Douthat Lake, there is a dam and waterfall that looks just like this. It makes the neatest sounds. I LOVE this photo. genie
I like the picture -- reminds me of here at Fern Ridge Lake -- our spillway is across the Lake.
There's so much energy in this photo! Fabulous!
