About This Blog

I began this blog in 2011 in an attempt to improve my photography and showcase all of California's 58 counties. I didn't quite make all of the 58, I missed three and I will try to rectify that in the coming year. I'm not sure how much I improved my photography because I always seemed to be in a rush.
In 2012 I plan to take more time, perhaps not post every day (this is one thing I did accomplish in 2011). I also plan to expand beyond California and include images from other parts of Western United States. I will continue to include a map showing where I was when I took the picture. I will keep commentary to a minimum, long photo essays will continue to be at Martha's Musings.

A truly beautiful covered bridge, Martha. Thanks for sharing it with us.
So nice to be home and able to comment, after a month traveling in Europe with little or no internet access. I've missed your wonderful photos.

Gorgeous!
My sister and brother-in-law were just down in Anza Borrego. Looks beautiful. They just came back a couple of days ago. I will look forward to seeing the photos.
Have a great week.

This reminds me of my roots in Lancaster County, PA. I didn't even know covered bridges existed in CA!

Martha...I adore covered bridges....and they are so hard to find these days. This is a beautiful one, and your capture of it is awesome. I want to tell you I did luck out. A VERY, VERY long train just before I took the photo of the tracks along the James River. I was like a child I was so excited. Afterwards, I was disappointed I didn’t shoot the moving train, but I was so entranced watching it rapidly chug along I forgot all about the camera around my neck!
