I began this blog in 2011 in an attempt to improve my photography and showcase all of California's 58 counties. I didn't quite make all of the 58, I missed three and I will try to rectify that in the coming year. I'm not sure how much I improved my photography because I always seemed to be in a rush. In 2012 I plan to take more time, perhaps not post every day (this is one thing I did accomplish in 2011). I also plan to expand beyond California and include images from other parts of Western United States. I will continue to include a map showing where I was when I took the picture. I will keep commentary to a minimum, long photo essays will continue to be at Martha's Musings.

Swing Bridge at Castle Crags State Park
6/8/2011
Castle Crags California State Park is to be Closed
«Louis» thanks you for your contribution to Sunday Bridges.
It is sad that the state is closing so many parks and not addressing the real issues that are causing the budget shortfalls: the state's notorious anti-business climate, high taxes and "fees" (another word for taxes) and the out of control wage and benefit costs of public employees, a bill paid by the far less-well compensated private workers. Many CA companies are moving to Texas because of its tax structure and pro-business attitude. Last year 47% of all new jobs nationwide were created in Texas...
That's a cool bridge, but the kind I'd have to walk on by myself - otherwise I'd get sick from the movement of OTHER people walking! Ha ha! Too bad this park is closing!
That does look like a bouncy swing bridge! I was wondering about the number of parks closing (it seems several other bloggers are referencing that, too) - thanks, Louis for some background.

Very cool!
I'd love to walk on this, but Bill would definitely pass this one by.
Thanks for sharing things that I've not seen! I hope this doesn't stay closed for too long...
Hmmm. I don't think you could pay me enough to cross that bridge. I get seasick on a swing. (Sad, eh?)
