I began this blog in 2011 in an attempt to improve my photography and showcase all of California's 58 counties. I didn't quite make all of the 58, I missed three and I will try to rectify that in the coming year. I'm not sure how much I improved my photography because I always seemed to be in a rush. In 2012 I plan to take more time, perhaps not post every day (this is one thing I did accomplish in 2011). I also plan to expand beyond California and include images from other parts of Western United States. I will continue to include a map showing where I was when I took the picture. I will keep commentary to a minimum, long photo essays will continue to be at Martha's Musings.
Wow!! This is a great shot of Long Beach, the harbor and the snow-capped mountains in the distance. When we've visited our sons in Long Beach, I hadn't noticed that you can see mountains from the downtown area. Beautiful capture!

Hope you can check out my Skywatch Friday entry as well. Thanks!
How majestic the mountains look behind the city!
I used to live in Los Angeles and have visited Long Beach many times as a teenie bopper. The view you choose to show us is super duper!

Looks like the mountains are rising right out of the city!
Oh.....nice..what a gorgeous view!
One of the best things about Southern California is in this photo. You can EASILY surf and snow ski on the same day...
GREAT photo!
Ah, one of those fabled super clear days in Southern California. Incredible.
Wow! I don't think I have ever seen that.
