About This Blog
I began this blog in 2011 in an attempt to improve my photography and showcase all of California's 58 counties. I didn't quite make all of the 58, I missed three and I will try to rectify that in the coming year. I'm not sure how much I improved my photography because I always seemed to be in a rush.
In 2012 I plan to take more time, perhaps not post every day (this is one thing I did accomplish in 2011). I also plan to expand beyond California and include images from other parts of Western United States. I will continue to include a map showing where I was when I took the picture. I will keep commentary to a minimum, long photo essays will continue to be at Martha's Musings.

Nice capture!! There's always something about action shots. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Is skimming the ground like that allowed? It certainly contravenes mechanised flight regulations.
Great capture.
Lovely shot Martha. He looks like a big one.
Oh that's gorgeous! Great job getting that shot!
The is one amazing photo! It appears that he is looking for something to eat!
That's a beautiful photo of the in-flight Harrier.
A beautiful flight shot. Thanks for sharing.
What a fantastic shot! This is my first visit and I'm your newest follower!
Superb photo!
Excellent timing, this is wonderful!!
Great shot of a Northern Harrier! I have never gotten this close.
This one has his eyes on a prize!
Incredible capture. All of the photos on this blog are breathtaking!
Talk about being in the moment! I haven't had the pleasure of seeing a Harrier. Your masterful in flight look is worth a thousand words. How did it happen?
Now that is a great shot of a harrier. You got it perfectly.
My harrier shot was pure serendipity. We stopped to photograph a lighthouse and had just gotten out of the car when I saw her hunting low at the edge of the parking area. Fortunately the camera was in my hand and had the 100-300IS mounted. I barely managed to get her in focus before she flew across the highway.
Great shot of the Harrier in action!
very cool photo - congratz!
Love watching Harriers. Nice flight shot!
Martha -- that is absolutely fantastic. I'm sorta' embarrassed about the photos I post on WBW, b/c I'm such an amateur (both birder and photographer). But I learn so much and see so many beautiful posts that I keep at it.
Yours is among the best of the best this week!
Excellent capture!!!
Did it get its meal?
